Good Afternoon. Here is a great thought for the day: THE RIGHT STRATEGY Mike's first job was at a neighborhood grocery store. When he initially presented himself to the store manager and inquired about employment, the manager immediately showed Mike the basement of the building. The manager said he needed someone to clean and organize the area which housed all the returned soda bottles being held for recycling. Mike took one look at the damp, dark, pest-infested space and said, "When can I start?" "Today," the manager replied. Mike accepted and was eager to get started. The manager grew concerned and said, "You never asked how much the job pays." "Oh," Mike replied. "How much does it pay?" "Minimum wage," was the manager's response, which at the time was $1.25. And though the task at hand seemed daunting, Mike's objective for his first job had nothing to do with money. His focus was on how he could add value to the task at hand. And he proved it by thoroughly cleaning and organizing the storage area in just a few weeks' time. The manager was so impressed that he offered Mike a promotion to store clerk and a raise of 25 cents. Mike eagerly accepted the opportunity and approached his new duties with the same kind of enthusiasm. A month later, Mike was promoted to head stock clerk and his pay increased to $2.00. Today Mike is the business owner who is always eager to share his success strategies with others. His message to professionals at any level is to-the-point: "The money naturally follows when we give our services in the spirit of goodwill."
"Each morning is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When the sun rises tomorrow this day will be gone forever, in its place will be something you have left — may it be something good. Follow your heart, it knows what to do."
