Good Evening. Here is a great thought for the day: As a young man, Bob needed a job he liked. To support his family and pay his bills, until something better came along, he took up Real Estate sales and found that he actually liked it. He especially liked setting his own hours and meeting the clients his age whose lives intersected with his. This was the start of a 40-year career as a Realtor®. Satisfied with the emotional side of his job, Bob put his efforts into developing an overall expertise in home sales. With his wife's help, he saved enough money to get his own Broker's license, and he went on to build his own Real Estate company. He found himself not only doing what he loved, but also running a successful business. When, after many years, Bob's wife died, the joy went out of running the business. Bob sold his Real Estate office. He now had enough money to retire, and he considered doing so. But he found that doing nothing left him too much alone. With his wife gone, he needed the activity and social connections of his former life. The solution was simple: keep selling Real Estate. Bob soon found a good rhythm, working his eight hours and playing golf two or three days a week. Crises such as having a loved one die, suffering a serious illness, or losing one's job are of course painful. When these things happen, we often want to turn away from the life that led us to this suffering. However, as Bob found, a painful crisis doesn't necessarily cancel out the successes you've achieved or your need to continue a productive life. After all, life is for the living. Be patient when you go through a crisis. When it recedes, look again at the road you once committed yourself to. It still may lead somewhere you really want to go.
"Each morning is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When the sun rises tomorrow this day will be gone forever, in its place will be something you have left — may it be something good. Follow your heart, it knows what to do."
